windows store issues

coffeekingms@hotmail.com
hi all

This only vaguely has to do with NVDA, but I figured I'd post it hear to
see if anyone out there who's using windows 10 is experiencing this.
I've been trying to install two apps. The xbox accessories app that goes
with my new xbox 1 wireless controller I got for christmas, and killer
instinct. In each case,  a microsoft account window opens, as if it's
trying to download and install the app, only to close and the app never
installs. Looking at windows problem reports it says that "microsoft
account" has stopped working. This happens on the latest stable windows
10 release, and the latest insider preview build. The store app itself
seems perfectly accessible with NVDA, although I do need to use object
navigation to get to some of the controls. Is anyone else experiencing
this? Sorry if this is off topic, if it is I'll refrain from posting
messages like this again, but couldn't think where else to post since
this has to do with accessibility.

Thanks

Kendell Clark

Re: windows store issues

James Teh
Are you able to have a sighted user confirm whether this happens without a screen reader? Failing that, does this occur if you use Narrator instead of NVDA? This sounds similar to a crash which occurs when adding an account:
https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/6311
This has been acknowledged by Microsoft as a Windows bug, but for some reason, NVDA triggers it even though Narrator doesn't.
