Skype chat windows leaving by pressing ESC is producing access violation

Mgr. Janusz Chmiel-3
Dear core developers,
Does somebody know about algorithm which is able to avoid access
violation faults when leaving Skype chat Window by pressing ESC?
The following bug appear.

Access violation at address 6A0F6BAA in module 'MSFTEDIT.DLL'. Write
of address 0000013C.

OK
Is it really caused by UIAUTOMATION bug? Really?
I AM using Windows 10 Home editon X 64. With latest updates, latest
Skype version and with latest NVDA snapshot.

Re: Skype chat windows leaving by pressing ESC is producing access violation

James Teh
As has been pointed out already, the crash occurs in UI Automation code in msftedit.dll and we don't inject any code which hooks UI Automation or anything like that, so yes, it's a bug in their UI Automation implementation. If you don't believe me, you're welcome to debug it for yourself.

Having said that, Mick noted in issue #6579 that he can't reproduce this any more in Windows 10 build 15007. That would suggest it has been fixed by Microsoft. If you are able to test that Insider build of Windows, it'd be good to know whether this problem is fixed for you.

While we believe this has been fixed, only Mick has been able to confirm that so far. It'd be great if others willing to run Insider builds are able to confirm this. Thanks.
