automatically check for updates

Mohammed Al Shara
Hi.

how exactly does nvda check for updates? how often is it supposed to do
that? I am on the official 2016.4 release, and I know that NVDA 2017.1
has been released. my copy did not yet notify me that an update is
available. in my general preferences I have "automatically check for
updates" checked. ideas?

Thanks

Mohammed.

Re: automatically check for updates

Joseph Lee
Hi,
It does this every 24 hours from the last time you or NVDA itself checked
for updates.
Cheers,
Joseph

Brian's Mail list account BY
This seems not to always occur on my windows 10 machine. I have to manually
do it quite often, especially on portable versions.

By the way is there any way in which in winedows 10 a portable nvda can be
made more useful? At present lots of things fail to read such as the lists
of faults in ccleaner and other programs as well as parts of windows.
