This new synth and all that.

Brian Gaff Lineone downstairs
Been a lot of chat about Speech Player on the freelist, and as I've not had
an answer to this, or at least none I have seen, thought I'd ask here.
The add on recently put on attaches installs OK but does not work
givingmultiple errors. I'm testing it on my XP boxes here, so is there some
dependency it needs that I might not have?
 Thanks.
 Brian

Hi Brian,

Re: This new synth and all that.

Brian's Mail list account BY
Well it is a little political at the moment and I do not want to tread on
any toes  or clutter this list up, but Mick wrote a bit of code that
attempts to use Klat in nvda as a way of giving folk an alternative to

Espeak. Josh  attached it to a message on freelists.
Then I tried it but it just gave errors, but others have tested it and
given it mixed  reviews. Then the add on list rejected it, but did not know
it was Micks code. If you look back a little way on the add ons list you
will see what its all about and a link to the source.
As I say, my only involvement is to try to get to the reason its not
running on an xp machine, but unless those messages have been lost in the
internet I have had no clear direct answer to that question on either of the
other lists despite asking the question.

I fully realise the  fact that nvdas next version is being worked on at the
moment so its hardly a high priority, and the answer may well have been
lost, so I am not  going to push it, but it would be nice to figure the
problem  out!
Brian

Re: This new synth and all that.

Mesar Hameed
Just to clarify, nothing has been rejected,
Michael didn't intend the code to be public, but in any case Michael asked for time to clean up the code and to discuss with the rest
of nv access what they want to do with the project.

thanks,
Mesar
