These reported slow downs..

Brian's Mail list account BY
I'm using the master thread and have 2017.2 as a portable version, and have
not in everyday use noticed any problems. Windows 7 seems just as it was to
me.
If there is a common situation which people have seen differences between
it and the earlier versions then please let us know. I am 64bit and did
wonder if those on 32bit operating systems might be the ones affected more.

Re: These reported slow downs..

Joseph Lee
Hi,
There are some programs that, when run with NVDA, becomes noticeably slow. I
have tracked the problem to a commit from March 2017 that deals with
something to do with display model or somewhere around there. The good and
bad master snapshots from that time are builds 13914 and 13921,
respectively.
Cheers,
Joseph

Re: These reported slow downs..

Brian's Mail list account BY
I think my point was that I don't notice the slow downs at all on what I
run, so its hard to  test it without something specific say in the operating
system or something everyone uses to show if its there or not.
I only ask as I like to help with such things but unless its happening to
all under given conditions its hard to know how they can actually fix it.

Re: These reported slow downs..

Alex H.
One place I've noticed this is when launching Audacity. The audio editor.

I simply open it, and within a few seconds, NVDA becomes sluggish and
bogged down. It's global, meaning that if I alt-tab away to another
app, NVDA is still lagging terribly.

NVDA version next-14089,7a46f9b3
Using Windows version 10.0.15063 workstation
64-bit

Re: These reported slow downs..

In reply to this post by Alex H.
This behavior is too using NVDA with An application writen in autoit,
especially in GUI from autoit in the GUI NVDA responses slowly.
I could help to debug it, but i Do not know how.
I tried older version of Autoit version autoit-v3.2.10.0 and there is
not the problem. slow responses are from newer versions of Autoit.

Re: These reported slow downs..

Jiri Holzinger
Hi,
I tested this try build and the results are very good. Nvda is faster
especially movement in lists buttons etc.
When I press alt key to menu and then back alt, there is a little
freeze about 2 seconds, it is better then before, before this try
build it was about 5 seconds.
