Serious Thunderbird Bug

Michael A Ray
Hello folks

For some time now there has been a problem with NVDA and both Firefox
and Thunderbird.

When writing emails in Thunderbird, lines are repeated when scrolling
down, and letters are repeated when scrolling across.

So fart I have been able to put up with this.  But today the seriousness
of this bug has increased.

I am the owner and admin of a Freelists email list,
[hidden email].

Free lists has a system wheby the admin user is able to send commands by
requesting a wrapper email.  The email is then forwarded back to
Freelists for action.

The body of the wrapper email contains these strings:

adminvfy

adminend
//eoj

Admin commands are put between adminvfy and adminend.

The strings in the email I send back are correctly spoken by NVDA, but
the admin engine consistently returns with:

dminvfy no such command.

When I put a space before adminvfy it comes back with dminend no such
command.  When I put a space before adminend it comes back with /eoj no
such command.

So...NVDA appears to be incorrectly reporting the first letter of each
line is there when it is not.

There are similar errors in form filling in Firefox.

I am using Windows 7 64-bit and Thunderbird portable 45.7.0.

Mike

I'm not having this issue with thunderbird and NVDA.  Can't guess what's
causing it for you, but it isn't a general issue for everyone.  Perhaps
it's an NVDA plugin causing the issue? Perhaps it's something entirely
different, but know it's not a general issue, so it should be solvable.
