OK I've had no answer to this question, but I imagine others have to be
seeing this.
In many of the posts in this list, including this one, a character set is
in use which many email clients seem unable to decode or tell me its Chinese
letters. This normally applies to the sender field and some of the preamble
to the post, but not the main details of the post, thus its only as in this
case when it says its from Mick that I see who sent it. It appears somewhere
along the line a character set is getting mangled. That is a technical term
of course!

I do not believe it's a character set getting mangled (and thereby resulting
in meaningless symbols), since if you copy and paste the Chinese into Google
Translate, the result is "Original mail" (from what appears in the body) and
"Starry sky" (from the sender field).

I have no idea why these emails are arriving on the list, but since they come
from an apparently valid email address [hidden email] maybe we should
simply ask that person?

The idea that Bill Gates appeared like a knight in shining armour to lead all
customers out of a mire of technological chaos neatly ignores the fact that it
was he who, by peddling second-rate technology, led them into it in the first
place.

It seems this person is forwarding mail from nvda-commits to nvda-devel. I'm not sure whether this intentional or unintentional. Either way, I've moderated this user for now so we don't see any more of these.

Could the forwarding mean that one system is interoperating the high ascii
incorrectly resulting in the effect. I see its being coded as base 64, which
of course will allow 8 bit characters in the whole message.
