Problum with NVDA

Narendra Vg
Hi List,
In one of the NGO they are facing problem with the NVDA 2016.3 and
running Windows7 professional 64BIT.the problem is follows:
While using “NVDA” is not reading name of the item completely, for
example my focus is on “start menu” but the “NVDA” is reading only the
“Start”. Usually NVDA has to read “Start menu search box edit search
program and files” this is an example. This problem recurring for any
command and for any navigation. but it is not reading. They have
uninstall the NVDA and again install but the problem is same. I am not
getting the solution for this.
Kindly help me the resolve this problem.
Note: this problem recurring in 10 machines.

Are these hp or dell laptops?
I have come across some sound drivers that for no reason I could figure
out, this chopping off of the sound occurs.
It surely has to be sound drivers.
Are all the machines the same?
In the end as it was only a couple of machines we used external sound cards
connected via usb and tese worked fine.

It kind of points to maybe the driver shutting the sound channel when the
end of the current action is foound but while the buffer is still playing
maybe.

If that is so, does nvda do this differently to other sound sources?

I used a very cheap creative  box plugged into the usb, and I've also used a
Behringer hi fi device successfully as well.

Re: Problum with NVDA

Aaron Cannon
When I've had issues with the sound card shutting off early, I've had luck ripping out the manufacturers drivers, and just letting Windows install their default drivers.

Yes it can work but most of the time it simply reloads the same ones if they
are signed by Microsoft.
I luckily have no current machines like this.
There is one desktop that has the unusual issue that when presented with
bleeps such as progress bars, suddenly it will pull the perceived volume
down by anything form 3 Db to almost nothing and no amount of fiddling with
the volumes can return it to normal only a windows restart.
I'm sure some drivers are just not tested enough.
