Off Topic - Reaper and Osara help

Marlon Brandão de Sousa
Hello,

Are there lists related to blind people and Reaper?

I have installed it and also Osara but can not go anywere as far as
opening a mp3 on to a track and pressing space bar to play the thing.
The arrows will make Osara to announce some persentages but will not
advance the play head so I can not walk through the sound.

I have searched a lot for Osara getting started but did not find
anything but I thought that there might exist a list for blind people
using Reaper so that I can ask these questions.

Not having anywhere to go from here, I thought that asking on the list
where Osara creators are might be a good idea at least to get started by
knowing where I can ask for help * smiles

reaper is *very different* from non interactive audio editors. It's a non-distructive audio editor. It would not be a media player, if your intent is to get something for playing audio, it is not the right choice. Also, effects in Reaper are live, so you hook up a chain of affects to a item which may contain a recording, middi, or other audio, and then the affects are applied to that audio as it plays or is exported. This is different than audacity in that it is not distructive (effects are applied in audacity once and that's it). There's an html version of the reaper users guide. IMHO there should be a short getting started guide to osara explaining the things needed to discover other commands. You should google "how to do x in reaper" and such. Here's an html reaper users guide. reaper-manual-text-v1.0.htm
Someoone else will have to answer your questions because I've just gotten started with reaper and osara, and non-distructive editing with a DAW myself. This course might help you if you want to sign up.

Re: Off Topic - Reaper and Osara help

Thanks.

The html manual is from reaper but not from Osara itself.

This is why I am asking for help specifically for blind users because osara itself adds yet another layer on the use of the editor.

Basically there should be a way of walking through the audio while playing it in order to select portions of it to apply effects. Even if you start to apply effects on a point you should walk to the point where you want to stop applying and so it is.

Thanks a lot.

There's a whole entire mailing list, probably the thing you're after.
