[NVDA-dev] status of resource monitor plugin

Alex Hall
Hi all,
I am surprised at the high level of interest in my plugin. Thanks to all for your offers to help test. I have a couple people with whom I am working, and we're almost ready for a beta. When I get home I'll fix the problem we found today, test, and (if all goes well), release the beta. It will be on dropbox until NVAccess sets up an official plugin repo.

Have a great day,

How about adding network connection status?

Hello!

Two things:

1 - About battery status.
NVDA already provides such functionality, the command is NVDA + Shift + B.
You can see in the file GlobalCommands.py.

2 - About the usage of CPU
Some times it reports 0%, in average, and 0% in each Core. Some times it
will report 0% average, 50% in Core 1 and 0% in Core 2.

Regards,

Rui

Believe me, I'd love to. Doing this in Python, though, is difficult, so I don't expect it any time soon. I'd rather not use WMI, since I would then need to distribute the WMI, win32, and other libraries... If anyone has suggestions for this, or even a recipe, let me know.

Have a great day,

I've almost fixed battery reporting, but good idea about that file.
I have no idea why the CPU reports are so odd, but it is the library I rely on, and I imagine part of it is that I get a snapshot, not constant readings like graphical CPU monitors do. I will look into this further for future improvement.
