NVDA and Brailliant BI40

Corentin Bacqué-cazenave

Hi all,

I have a Bluetooth connection problem with my braille display Brailliant Bi 40 using NVDA 2016.4 under Windows 10.
I can connect via USB with no problem, but via bluetooth, NVDA is unable to load the braille display driver.
Four things I would like to indicate:
With Haws on the same machine, all works fine.
I tried the following:
Reinstalled NVDA,
suppressed the peripheral and reconnected it,
changed the protocol on the display
and nothing changes!
I must add that that on another machine, all works fine.
All the drivers on the machine are uptodate, and also the display's firmware.
Would someone have any solution to propose?
Thanks in advance.

Re: NVDA and Brailliant BI40

James Teh
Bluetooth is not yet supported for the OpenBraille protocol, though that work is in progress.

As for the HumanWare protocol:
Do you know what Bluetooth stack your system uses? Does it use the Microsoft stack or something else?
Do you know if the Brailliant has a Bluetooth COM port assigned to it?
Please follow the instructions in the "hwIo Debugging" section of this article:
https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/wiki/DebuggingBrailleDisplayDrivers
Once this is done, reproduce the problem, view the log, save the log file and attach it to your reply.

Thanks,
Jamie
