Is a NVDA bug o a problem on the web?

mk360
HI,

I'm trying to use the search box from http://www.contraloria.cl, but I
only can review the search results using focus mode, and if I go to
search results and change to browse mode NVDA doesn't see anything, also
if I try to use object navigation I get the error sound.
Any solution? Is a NVDA bug or a problem on the web? that question is
important, because it is a site from goverment (fiscalization) and I
think I can contact the webmasters to do some changes, but I> need to
know what is happening.
I know it is a spanish site, but you can see the problem by going to the
site, search anything on the search box, change to focus mode and go to
results.

Regards,
mk.

Oooops, I forgot to mention that I'm using firefox 35.1 and NVDA next, although the problem also occurs in IE 9 and firefox at least since version 28, using NVDA 2014.3.

Well, looks like a bit of an odd site to me, for example you set it up to
English, and when you do a search its back in Spanish again.
It seems to have no headings, which is the usual way I get to the search
results, but this site seems to have another search box in an iframe and it
wants you to refine  its search all the time even though it states, in
Spanish, that there are only 15, which is only 1.5 lists.

Not being fluent in Spanish I cannot to say if any of the suggesting things
are what was searched for. I chose festivals from the English page, and
seemed to get a lot of historical events.
I'm not totally surprised as over here in the UK many sites run by
government agencies come up with daft answers or often no answers at all. I
never encountered the need to move into  focus mode though. It does
certainly not take you to the  results but its not far down where it states
there  are 10 out of 15 or whatever, and wants some clarification, in
Spanish.

Its also a bit sluggish as a site.
 Brian

Re: Is a NVDA bug o a problem on the web?

Hmmmm, I forgot the english verssion. The thing is it is a site of
jurisprudence, so I don't know if the things that you can search are
translated, but probably not. The thing is contraloria is the
responsible for monitoring the actions of the administration, so I think
I can do a requirement for access information, a law that I know well.

However... in the spanish site for example, if you go to the search box
with e, change to focus with enter, type "obra publica", press tab, do
spacebar on the button, and go to the results, if you move with arrow
keys, you can't go to the results... if you change to focus mode, the
results are placed one tab next than the link "atención a usuarios" and
the first result is "INFORME DE SEGUIMIENTO 5-12 DIRECCION GENERAL ...".

uhm, I'm testing again on IE 9 and now it works, so the problem is with
Firefox. I think I'll file a ticket for this...
