Does Windows Store work with NVDA?

John Isige
If this is too much of a user question let me know and I'll subscribe to
the user's list and post there. I'm trying to search for the KNFB Reader
with the store app. Sometimes I can get the search feature to work, but
most of the time I type into it, hit search, and it does nothing. Once
it said there were suggestions, but I couldn't find any way to get to
them. I'm running Win 10 Creator's, NVDA NVDA 2017.2, and Windows 10 App
Essentials 16.02.

I can tab around the store and see apps and stuff, like "blah blah app
is awesome, blah foo app has a deal today", things like that. But
searches don't seem to work at all. Is there another way to buy apps
than the store app? I thought that's what we were supposed to use to do
all of that stuff? I could get my wife to use the store app for me, but
I'd really like to do it myself if I can manage it. I can't find any
keyboard shortcuts for the store app or much about accessibility for it
online except that they did improvements in narrator a while back.

Hi,
Wait, did you say you're using WinTenApps 16.02 and not a typo? If you are
indeed using 16.02, please update to version 17.07A, as the versions are
worlds apart.
Cheers,
Joseph

Re: Does Windows Store work with NVDA?

John Isige
OK, now running latest stable Win Apps, 17.07A. If I type blind into the
search, I get eleven suggestions. If I hit down arrow, I get into a
popup window with the list of suggestions. If I type knfb, I get three
suggestions, but hitting down arrow says "list", but there's nothing in
it. That is, the arrows don't read any suggestions to me at all.
Needless to say the KNFB reader isn't one of the suggestions you get
when typing blind. I thought it would search descriptions but it seems
to just deal with app titles.

Hi,
In this case, search for "KNFB" and KNFB Reader will be one of the
suggestions.
Cheers,
Joseph

Re: Does Windows Store work with NVDA?

John Isige
Well! I've done my deed of dumbness for the day. Thanks! I get the page
with a button to buy and description and everything. Next, let's see if
I can mess up entering payment information! :)
