A constant crash related to nvda_slave.exe in Windows 7 and Outlook 2007

luciano de souza
Hello all,
I am facing a severe problem with NVDA and Outlook 2007.
The current NVDA version is 2017-4, but elder versions have presented
the same problem.
When using Outlook, I have a crash. NVDA keeps silent for some seconds
and come back. Outlook crashes definitely, being necessary to restart
it.
The problem seems to be related the interaction with NVDA and Outlook.
The message in log is the following:

WARNING - core.main (15:30:49):
Java Access Bridge not available
ERROR - RPC process 1732 (nvda_slave.exe) (15:32:02):
__main__.main:
slave error
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "nvda_slave.pyw", line 90, in main
File "comHelper.pyo", line 22, in _lresultFromGetActiveObject
File "comtypes\client\__init__.pyo", line 180, in GetActiveObject
File "comtypes\__init__.pyo", line 1165, in GetActiveObject
File "_ctypes/callproc.c", line 950, in GetResult
WindowsError: [Error -2147221021] Operação não disponível

A technician has recreated Outlook profile, has reinstalled NVDA and
Office, has cleaned Windows register and has improved the settings of
machine for a best performance.
Despite this, the problem continues.
As I need to restart Outlook more than 10 times daily, it's negative
to my activities.
Does someone know how to fix this problem related to nvda_slave?

In spite of this, when using Outlook

I don't know Portuguese, but The closest I can come up with is "opperation not available/permitted" which suggests some permissions error.

2016.4 or 2017.1?
What is the Java Access bridge doing here? I was not aware any Microsoft
programs use it.

Well, I don't believe that Java error is related to Microsoft. I have
started NVDA with --log-level and --log-file parameters and, as a
result, I have this log.
The log suggests NVDA tried to do a RPC command and, for a unknow
reason, this operation was not allowed. Why? I don't know.
Certainly, it's not linked to Windows permissions. NVDA was installed
by a technician who has all the needed privilleges.
is there a way to say to NVDA to record the log in English? This could
ease the comunication here.

Actually, the message about RPC error is not operation not allowed,

Re: A constant crash related to nvda_slave.exe in Windows7 and Outlook 2007

I don't know what's exactly is a "crash dump". but I don't know if is
a language or a tecnic issue.
I know what is a database dump: all records are save in a plain file
with SQL instructions.
So what I understand as "dump" is take something in a format and save
it to a file in other format.
What's is exactly a "crash dump"?
